I have a '92 & a '96 Vmax. Both of them at times will stall when they are shifted into 1st gear after being shut down and restarted. I thought at first it was just happening when I started it in gear with the clutch applied but after closer examination it will do it whether or not it is in a gear or nuetral when shut down. It has done it when hot and cold. It tends to do it several times per occurance before I can get it into first without stalling it.
Any idea what I am doing wrong or what the problem may be?

Thanks

check your clutch switch

well also, i assume u mean stall, by it shuts right off. it doesn't slowly die, right?

i should give a bit more info, the plunger the clutch lever pushes in, will eventually just keep sticking in there. reproduce the issue, and look under ur clutch lever, see if the plunger is still stuck in, if it is, theres ur problem. pry it out and try again, should be able to do it with a screwdriver or a fingernail.

Clean your sidesstand switch too.
