OK, we are getting closer to the Carrozzeria wheels being available for the Gen 2 Customers! The wheel dimensions are all ready and most of the pre-prep prior to tooling is done. Here's a link to what we are looking at design wise:

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...2488678&type=3

Now we just need some confirmed customers to start! I am going to say we need at least 15 "Confirmed" customers (with deposits paid). I have some other requirements that we need to fill but that's the big one. Any other customers with M109's may be able to get in on this deal too!

These will be setup with the wide tire wheels for the rear (240 kit). We will not have the stock width at this time. The good news is it will be a simple fit and not require the swingarm!

Also, our preliminary data shows these will be right inline with comparable weight with the Carbon wheels that are being offered but for a significantly less cost!! Plus the added benefit of multiple colors and even chroming available. Also, better long term durability and resistance to environmental factors (***Note this is my opinion***).

Email me at one2dmax@aol.com if even remotely interested!

My buddy bought the jacket below. He brought it in and I tried it on. Nice jacket. I bought one today. You can't beat it for the price ($96.00) and free shipping too. It's 2 jackets in one and is suitable for year round riding. Watch the video for it.

First off, this is a previous question of mine -

 				Image: http://www.vmaxforum.net/disturbed/images/icons/icon1.gif *Starter clutch...

First off, this is a previous question of mine -

Starter clutch bolts - tack welding?
I may have to replace my stator - I'm going thru all the fault finding processes currently - but for now I have no questions about that procedure.
My question is about the starter clutch bolts, of which the peened ends will be exposed when I remove the stator cover.
I'm not having any starter problems ("that bag of rocks"sound) as yet - knock on wood- but, in the spirit of preventative maintenance , is there any reason why the ends of the bolts could not be reinforced with a MIG tack-weld?
The ground could be placed on a stud screwed into the puller holes, next to each bolt, to prevent current from traveling thru any bearings or fits.
Is this worthwhile, or am I thinking "too far out of the box" ???
Thanks in advance for the replies

Well, I'm currently into the bike, replacing the stator. That job is going just peachy, should be buttoned up tomorrow, after I get the gaskets.
What I noticed about the bolts - they were all loose, all had moved from the original peen marks, fortunately, none had rotated more than one revolution (which explains why I wasn't having problems?) In any event, I decided against tack welding, as some folks had suggested, so as an alternative I used a sharp punch to turn the bolt ends ccw(tightening them), until the peen marks were lined up, and then blasted in two additional peens per bolt.
Hopefully, they should not back out again.
New question - this is for those familiar with the different types of flywheels used over the years.
There are six through-holes near the outer diameter of the wheel, presumably for weight reduction. I believe all the flywheels have these.
On my 03 model, there is a light gauge metal sleeve inserted in the wheel, the inner lip of which partially covers these six holes. What is this for, and is it removable with the flywheel still on the bike? In my Clymer manual, no sleeve is shown, the full diameter of the six holes are visible. I'm presuming this is an earlier model wheel.
If I can get this sleeve out, I'm going to fabricate a six - bolt puller, a "plate" type, for use when and if I ever have to pull the flywheel off . Instead of a center screw, this puller would be used with a small hydraulic ram.
Again, thanks in advance for the replies. Cheers!

Well I picked up this 96 today it needs a little cleaning & it has a rod bearing making a little noise. It has a 1500 PCW tourmaser with JE 13:1 pistons web cams corrillo rods 39mm flatsides, dynamag wheels, progressive springs & ricors, radial master cylinders aftermarket rotors. This thing has had a crap load of work done . I am stoked. I am gonna sell the flatsides & the progressive 418's, the hindle & a few other things. I am probably gonna put my current bike back to stock & sell it to fund this project. I am probably gonna send the motor back to PCW as they said they knew what the problem was & could fix it for $ 1500 . I got a good enough deal on it that I dont mind spending the cash on the motor

I'm currently looking to marry an '04 Vmax, a love affair long in the making (I've wanted one of these since 1985 when I first saw the ol' "rear tire bigger than most cars" burnout ad in cycle world, motor cyclist or whatever it was. Anyway, the bike has just over 4K on it (rather low, I thought) and I noticed the following issues in the photos; First, there's excessive heat discoloration on the front headers. Do you think this may be due to excessive idling or a poor carb setup? Any worries of burned valves/pistons from abnormal lean mixture?
Also I noticed what appears to be an oil leak at the joint between the driveshaft tube and the final drive housing. This doesn't seem right for a bike this age, is it a major job to fix? I've attached photos, hopefully they're clear enough!
Any thoughts, advice or other guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for this to be a long relationship, and I want to make a good choice!
