Well I am selling my Max. I bought it used in 2006 for 7k. It has under 16,000 miles on the odometer.
If you search my post you will see I have had my share of issues but took care of them.
Fixed the starter clutch 3 times. Replaced the clutch pack once. Just put a new battery last month...
Well I had a fork seal leaks, not bad but still. I used that seal leak blade tool and it worked. Is it possible to add some fork fluid "top off" without breaking the forks down and replacing all fluid? Seals seem fine now. How would one top off??
I realize this is a old thread:
I had to replace my starter clutch due to bag of rocks crap.
It looked fine. I replaced it anyway and found a hairline crack in it. Undetectable but was compromised.

Rather than take any chances I replace the whole starter clutch with...
Well I do appreciate all responses. And am going to unzip this bike today and have a looky-lou. I pray I do not encounter any buggered up gears or such.
I am having Yamaha cut me a gasket today as well. I will report my findings.
It does make sense the more torque that sucker spins the...
Hello, I did replace the referenced parts. But I did not use a gasket. I used red permatex. The last time I replaced my starter clutch I sheared off my crank woodruff key and I did not use a gasket then. Maybe that is my problem. I may be getting a bind. I am going to have to get back...
