    Dancing with Gigi… 38.88 MPG

So to anyone else here that runs 1) a wheel different diameter than stock 2) has a non-OEM windshield that might give better (or worse) airflow 3) has saddlebags that cause drag 4) have highway pegs as that can change the aerodynamics... ..."you're not riding a Vmax..." ...or we could just...

    Dancing with Gigi… 38.88 MPG

Putting on a diff with same external housing and having ~11% taller gearing is a 'huge' change...like putting on a taller tire...like a supercharger

a Vmax with a Venture differential...is no longer a Vmax?

    Dancing with Gigi… 38.88 MPG

I get 110~120 miles pre-light constantly on highway trips...but that requires the Venture rear diff I switched over to years ago. I can't image the actual amount of miles I've got on that diff; came out of a '83 (?) Venture and then moved along up to the rear of my 3rd Gen 1 Vmax...guessing...

    Kickstand turn?

Just approach any Goldwing owner at a bike rally and ask...I've found them to be a friendly bunch and they may be interested in discussing your plan.

Are 13" dyna rear shocks compatible with VMax

Does anyone have experince with the eBay Ohlins look-alikes? i.e. Arishi Guess its more copy-cat/cheapo product based on many other 'clone' purchases I've long-since decided to stop doing...but if anyone has actual experience/road time, I would be interested to see if they 1) function as...

Are 13" dyna rear shocks compatible with VMax

Penske 8975 Double Adjustable In Line Rear Shock CAD $1,950.00 Sale $1,852.50 I'm guessing there is no Canadian distribution so resellers here are buying/marking up another 50% and reselling again Great idea...but 2K installed just isnt an option I'm very keen on the lightly used, high...

Are 13" dyna rear shocks compatible with VMax

I am very curious about rear shocks too: OEM - mini pogo's and not suited for a heavy guy Progressive 440's - harsh...and started leaking (which was actually more comfortable) and had them rebuilt under warranty and went back to harsh Springworks - meh ride...then went out of business Ohlins -...

    VMAX 1200 radiator fan performance?

I put in a thermostat from 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX which triggers the rad fan ~1/2 up the gauge instead of OEM 2/3rd mark and that seems to 'get in front' of the heat build up. If I idle a long time on a hot day it will build...but the moment I start moving it's fine; of course if I know I'll be...

How to: Adjust your needle position

Not sure why people are saying Canadian Vmax came with adjustable needles...I've owned 3 and NONE of them came with adjustable needles. Only adjustment I could make was putting washers under the E clip

3rd Vmax...must be something about them I like

Didn't notice any difference with OEM-style (oval) single K&N but I've had the same filter for 15+ years, cleaning/re-oiling it occassionally and it works fine so even with the higher initial price, it's been much cheaper than replacing the OEM paper filters several times over the years. I...

    Forkin' springs!

I've used Progressive Suspension front springs in (2) Gen1 Vmax...happy enough with them. Single rate would be more 'predictable' but as a heavy guy, the properly-wound single rate ones would have made me feel every bump and I dont want that for touring.

What's the best long ride seat?

I've also tried other seat padding i.e. gel, foam; better than nothing but an improper poor seat is...just that; the pad just takes on the shape of the seat underneath and doesnt help when the seat is significantly uncomfortable. Contemplated a Day-Long seat but they're not suited to the Vmax...

What's the best long ride seat?

Already mentioned I've got a Corbin and yes, better than OEM, but it's very hard and I've tried to make it more comfortable over the years by adding temp foam/sheepskin cover when touring...but it's not enough. I'm in the swear 'at-it' group hence why I was asking about other options
