search HD oiling upgrade should come up
Yamaha upgraded the parts around 2003 or so. I replaced the oil gallery and related o-rings with the new unit. Here are pics I took that show the differences between the parts and show what the displaced o-ring looks like. The one on the left is the new unit.

Chapter 2 Haynes Manual covers the teardown of that area, torque specs, etc. starts at pg 37 or so.
The worst part of the whole job I found was scraping the old gasket off.

Easiest fix is the Kawasaki oval ring, part # 92055-1147

So just to be sure, if you have a 2003 or newer model, there should be nothing to worry about?

wher do I get this upgrade?
Think Sean Morley [email protected] sells the o-rings and you'll need a pan gasket which he sells also.
