I picked my motor apart. Valve seats and valves did not look very pretty. After lapping the valves, the contact area between valves and valve seats measure about 1.2 - 1.4 mm wide.

The manual specs a service limit of 1.4mm, and a desired seat width of 1mm.

Do you think it's worth the money having the seats recut to reduce the seat width? How many hours of work would you expect a shop to need for this job?
I got a quote for 4hrs.. Anyone think that is too much, or too little? I have no idea how long it takes..

Cheers!

You're probably good to go. The wider seat may impact overall performance just a little bit but create a larger surface for sealing and cooling.
