I recently bought a Bad Boy horn and cant find a way to mount it where it looks decent. I saw several where it was mounted on the side of the motor but that's not for me. I also have read where you can separate the compressor from the horn itself but I cant find anything that shows how. A video would be awesome but if no video at least a good description would help. :ummm:

I mounted my air horn on the upper LH fork but luckily I have a fairing to hide it behind. Sorry this is no help for you................One thing about these Vmaxs, there's no room to hide anything on them.

I have a sawzall George will travel and we'll get the hone (sic) apart . I remember reading about it where someone separated it . I will look for it I'm traumahawk will find it !!!

Traumahawk must be having dinner...

Brute force is one way to do it, a Sawzall is a useful tool. What's left-over may not be of much use...

You may need a relay kit, if so look here:

For general reference on electrical stuff for your bike or any vehicle:

If you are a user of COPs you have a bracket and space to mount the compressor from which you can run a hose down to noise maker mounted in an appropriate location that will get the space invading offenders immediate and rapt attention!

I mounted mine in the original location using a piece of flat steel that I bent to shape in a vice.It fits in between head pipes and has worked fine for better than 2 years now.I really don't think It looks bad at all.You don't even notice it unless you look for it.

If you are the lazy type, and have money to spare, they market the same horn already in two pieces just for this very reason. And the nipples connecting the two halves are of proper quality so as to maintain a good connection of the tubing between the pump and horn sections. I bought one to install on Shala's Rune a while back.

The one time I attempted to separate a Wolo type horn, I ended up breaking it where the nipple glued into the pump.

Thanks redbone. I dont have COPS and most of that stuff isnt the exact horn i have. The wiring tutorials do help me out a lot though.

The heat from the exhaust doesnt melt the plastic? That was the first place i thought of too.
