Update 13/04/2013

It's been a while since the last update and allot has changed. The headlight is mounted and connected, the parts are all sanded and they will be painted next week. I changed some ideas about the colors, you will see. The bike is cleaned up after being covered with all the dust from sanding the parts. I have mounted my KOSO speedo and a new handlebar. I have fitted heated hand grips as well. I have covered as much cables as I could with green fluo protectors. Here are the results from this week:

See you next update!

How was the koso speedo to install. I have one I haven't installed mine yet.

ALLOT of work... but the instructions are pretty clear, there was only confusion about the RPM and POWER cable. Both brown and referred to as "the brown one". One of them is light brown so you see the difference but in words.. Yeah brown is brown :) So that's pretty much the only thing you have to look out for :)

Edit: And I still have to install the temp sensor of the water some way. I'm thinking about cutting the cooling hose and placing a metal piece in between so I can use the sensor. The oil temp sensor will not be connected, I cant place it anywhere since there is no radiator for oil on a Vmax

Awesome thanks. I'm gonna tackle it next week I hope :punk:

In a few days I will get the rest of the bodywork!

See you next update!

Quite the transformation so far, excellent work! I'm glad the mod monkey is off my back for the moment and firmly planted in your garage. You have been feeding him well over there!

I like that frame brace.

I also have the same headlight and Koso. Granted I never got my Koso working properly. The RPM part wont work.

Don't you get an RPM reading? In the instructions they even mention de Yamaha Vmax and the wiring for the RPM is different from other bikes

Update 19/04/2013

Today a little bit of bad news. The rest of the bodywork has a little delay of a few days. He messed up the green paint or something so he has to redo it :) Well no worries, I started on installing the air scoops to place the stickers. Then will have to come off again for placing the little pieces between the tank and airscoops. So what else? The rear wheel and bridge is installed. Enjoy:

Next update, you will see a completed bike!

the black and green go very well. excellent job. great looking bike.

peace,
evan

I could see some green LEDs behind those scups.

Is the NO2 functional?

planing any internal engine mods?

I love projects like these!

Yeah, I was thinking About adding LED's but that will be for in the summer. The NOS bottle is just extra fuel :)

Not really planning any engine mods. The ignition cables are not stock. The clutch is also changed. And that is about it. I have a stage 1 dynojet that my dad installed once. He was not to happy with it (the extra consumption of fuel, when riding in group a lot, always the first with an empty fuel tank)

There will be another delay on the parts. I just came home today (First I only saw the picture above that the painter send me) and when I saw the pieces in real life I was absolutely not happy with the result. The line between the black and green is not sharp and not straight at all! I will bring them back and I hope he will redo them all.

Birthday update: 4/05/2013
I finished the bike today! I have new mirrors, new indicators, new taillight, ... I'll just show you:
