In typical Todd fashion, I had the bike apart before I left.

If was getting new tires, new brakes, and a few fixes on it before I left. My shorai battery took a shit and burnt up on me. Luckily I had the last battery that was in there and was able to put it back in and it was ready to go.

I left the Vmax for my son to ride over the weekend. And made the decision on the ride down there, that he is going to get that bike. Which means I ever get a Gen 2 Vmax, or a Goldwing. Not sure what I want to do yet. :biglaugh:

Before I left we went to go get a new helmet and gloves for him and I just happened to see a new pair of half boots and bought those :biglaugh:

My Aplinestar boots. They are VERY nice. I like them better than my full race boots. But it took a little getting used to not having a full boot on.

On the way down in Ohio, stopped for fuel and a couple quick pictures at the Armstrong Space Museum. They were closed, but gave us a few minutes to walk.

I had really hoped to meet up with Texas and possibly a few others. But it ended up not happening. :bang head: My girl wanted to watch the airshow and I thought we would have plenty of time, but after I mapped it out. She was right, 160+ miles to meet for a half hour lunch and be back for the air show wasn't going to happen. I am glad we went to the air show though. It was a lot of fun. My phone ran out of battery which was a drag but got some pictures.

Leaving for Thunder from my cousins house in KY.

Found the parking area for bikes and the local parking enforcement made a stink. Waited 30 mins for the police to say it was ok to park there.

On the way back it was raining when we left. If we would have left about 20 mins earlier I think we would have been a little better off. But the forecast changed quickly on us and we had to change plans on what time we were leaving.

As it ended up, we ran about 2 hours in solid rain through some of the mountains in KY. Wasn't that much fun, thankfully it was Sunday morning and there wasn't alot of big trucks on the road. We were soaked through, well me a little more since I was in front. I thought I was drying off LOL. We stopped at a restaurant and I got off and she was just laughing as I went to unzip my jacket and take off my gloves, as a steady stream of water funneled out both sides of my jacket. I know even with good rain gear we would have been soaked, but this year I am buying good rain gear LOL! I looked a little funny caring a full set of new clothes into a Waffle house lol.

The food was a little cold though.

After we ate it was sprinkling a little and we headed off trying to stay ahead of the storm. We did and made it all the way back home dry, but the temps dropped like a rock it felt like. I couldnt believe it said 58 in Michigan when we arrived, I would have swore it was 40's! But after leaving high 60's in KY in the morning, hitting some low 60's and then low 70's in Ohio for awhile you could feel the temps dropping. Atleast the sun came out for a little while.

At a rest stop just before home, I stopped to plug my phone in. I lifted up the cord and it started smoking..... Well it must have gathered water and burned the complete harness and melted it down. Thankfully the bike didnt catch on fire or melt anything else. We made it home and I am going to tear that apart and get that fixed this week.

I also found out my clutches need replacing in this one too. So the Vmax got a new spring and I am going to clean up those clutch plates and frictions install the double d spring and then installed new clutch plates and frictions in this one as well. I might toss in a Brocks spring kit also. not 100% sure. It wasn't bad enough to not make the trip, but it would slip in the lower gears. So I didnt both trying it in a high gear. I just putzed along the way there and back.

+1 to to what Jim "Jeffrey" Feagins said. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing!

DAYUM! XD That looks like it was one AWESOME trip! Great pics, btw.
Also, that breakfast, was that the 1st course, or the whole meal? That looked a little small, for my stomach. lol

Thanks guys.

Yes that was the whole meal. I am trying to eat smaller portions, but that wasn't the plan on that meal.

Next trip is coming up soon.

I have a Tourmaster Elite 2 piece rainsuit that works great. I've ridden from Port Huron to North of Gaylord in a driving rain and the only issue I had was a faceshield allowed water to drip a bit. I also have WP boots and goretex w/ insulation gauntlet gloves.

Looks like you order the size you are as they are made oversize.... kinda answered my own question I guess if I would have just looked first lol.
