I wanted to build one 20 years ago. There is a problem is with the front head pipes on the VMax motor. They interfere with the frame on the Royal Star.

It looks like they put a severe bend (or kink) in the pipe on the bike in the article.

I never tried to make it work....John Gainey told me it was a problem and I took his word on it.

I'm looking for a Royal Star right now as a second bike......I like this one but it's priced to high.

Yep, that bike's been on here before, here's one mention: http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=13117&highlight=batman&page=2

It's got some interesting things done to it. No way would it be the equal of a VMax. A good effort, and someone had fun doing it.

That is badass, I know he went to some trouble to create clearance for exhaust, that took some doing. Very nice use of a Vmax engine. With a single disc front brake being ample I have to assume it weighs considerably less than a full Vmax.

Nice Batman Bike.

My Speedstar.....
