Hi guys,

started replacing the starter clutch over the weekend... flywheel came off eventually (actually easier then anticipated, happy days). Changed starter clutch went to reassemble and then noticed I'd stuffed the first few threads of the Crankshaft internal thread so now the flywheel bolt won't go back in :bang head:
Do you guys think it's possible to use a tap to rethread or do you think it would be completely screwed.... ?? Really don't want to strip engine now...

Has anyone had the problem before?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you're screwed. It's happened before. I think a chaser would do the job. I've cut a taper and some relief cuts along the length on a same size bolt, in the past and got it fixed. People with more, vmax specific tools, will chime in I'm sure. Sean Morley is your contact for all things Vmax.

A sharpened bolt can act as a tap or you can get a thread file as well to help clean up those first bolts.

Thanks for the replies guys... I’ll try the sharpened bolt and see how I go..
