Back in October or November, I called Kosman about widening the front wheel on my 1st gen. I was told that Kosman didn't do it any more and was referred to a guy named Charlie Sullivan. He was kind of hard to get ahold of but I finally spoke to him in early January and he referred me to a guy named Walt and gave me his phone number. Then, last week, I got a voicemail from Kosman, referring me to Custom Metal Spinning. The phone number matches the one that Charlie gave me for Walt, so they are apparently one and the same.
So, if you're looking to have your wheels widened, Kosman is now referring to Custom Metal Spinning. Here's the contact page on their website: http://www.custommetalspinning.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1834
I haven't dealt with them personally so I can't vouch for their services, but figured I'd share this information as shops that do motorcycle wheel widening are apparently rather hard to find.
The only other shop I've found that does it is Boxenstopp, and I haven't actually called them to confirm. http://boxenstoppdaytona.com/ According to the catalog on their website, they charge $685.30 for a 3.75" x 18" wheel, and you have to send in a donor wheel. http://www.boxenstoppdaytona.com/boxenstoppcatalog.pdf
I haven't gotten pricing from Custom Metal Spinning.
