So I've been trying to fix my '88 Vmax for the last month and still can't fix this issue with the fuel pump. It started out when I took a small fall at ~10 MPH and it seemed to move around the diaphragms in the pump which led to a loud clicking sound from the pump. So I then took apart the pump, found everything to be OK and put it back together and it still didn't work but now it decided to not click at all. Then my pump relay decided to take a shit and after I replaced that relay, my pump now is acting up. Instead of it clicking like it's supposed to it is now buzzing. There is the video of my issue. I have already purchased a different pump but it came DOA to my dismay so I have to send it back for a replacement. Is there anything left other than replacing the entire pump? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check your fuel bowls because it sounds like it is working correctly. When you turn the key on it will run until it fills the bowls up then turn off. When you start the bike it will then run to keep fuel in the bowls.
Did you order the fuel pump off of Ebay?

You can take this apart and put your brackets from your stock one on.

Yup. Already bought one of those and the one I ordered was DOA. And on the bowls, they have been dry. I am not getting any vacuum from my fuel line. Part of my hose near the tip of the fuel pump is expanded outwards so I think that might be part of the problem. Also my fuel pump never vibrated like it is right now. https://youtu.be/75NvrsBqfys

Sounds like one of the small diaphragms in the pump has come loose. Mine kept doing this until I changed the diaphragm. Have you double checked both diaphragms?

When the diaphragms are in place the pump will turn off when full, when they are not in place the pump will constantly run.
Are you getting a pump from the same place and is it Ebay?
The one I sent has a lifetime warranty.

That's the one I ordered. Came DOA, haven't gotten around to getting another one.
