hi all !!! i've signed up about a year ago, but only just now got time to introduce myself and my vmax properly. so here it is.

my name is wlodek, i'm polish origin, living in uk since june 2000.
my vmax is:

1989 full power canadian import
dynojet stage 7, cone filters etc
hindle stealth 4into1
bike and engine rebuilt about 3k ago (crank shells failure)
pretech calipers, pfm discs
2005 r1 cops, oddysey battery
rear wheel from germany, deget 17-6"
tyre 190/55 !!! and no clearance problems, it's tight though
rear shocks off a kawa zrx12, bit longer, maybe too long
front forks, wp springs and 7.5 oil
bellypan off ebay, mirrors off a hog or something

133rwhp/9.050rpm
87footpounds of torque/6250-6400rpm
max speed 188mph, but only about 140 in real life

no wobble anywhere, ever
stable until top speed
footpegs drag in fast corners
no more grip issues in wet

here are some pics and a dyno graph, i hope you like them as much as i do my vmax :))

well welcome, nice machine, the mod monkey gonna love you!

Pictures and a wheelie! Oh you are gonna fit right in here my Polish friend! Great job on your Max. Mod monkey thinks it's about half finished....

133 hp. wow! that can't be stock engine size, i saw it was rebuilt, what got put into it?

Witam rodaka

Ja rowniez witam :D
Nice bike overall!

133rwhp seems very very "VERY" high for stock motor.
I think its 1298cc venture block with v-max heads, huh?

188 miles are about 300kmh...no offence but thats imposibble.
You will hit 151,8 mph at 9500 rpm with that tyre.
Even if you have venture final drive You will hit 168,7 mph.
Even if You have an overdrive in your gearbox You would need about 170rwhp
to push the v-max to that speed.

stock vmax block and cc, stock internals, heads and intakes ported and polished, valves....what you call it?...lapped? ground in? for better compression hold

not sure what carbs are set at, defo stage 7 and 4into1 help, it's got a small misfire from 4 to 5k rpm, as seen on dyno sheet

as to the top speed, as i said it does about 140, stock vmax drive, 190/55 tyre is about the same height as original 15 incher tyre
but apparently in space or on the dyno where there's no drag, it'd do 188 LOL

Im sure Your dyno is wrong about the speed and power.
Im also sure lots of gyus here will agree thats simpy not possible.

Make Your math or use this to calculate max speed:

you might be right, but then, what if same-ish numbers come up on a different dyno? nevermind, seeing it on a dyno surely made my day :))
forgot to mention, dyno runs were done by these guys:

Oh its all good.
I found most dynos in EU working in thier "own specific way", completly diffrent from US ones.

Just no one ever hit that high numbers with that kind stock motor...

Great looking bike and hats off on the wheelie! Just curious about the misfire from 4-5k. Hows the compression on the bike and have you tested it since the rebuild?

If the dyno #'s are acurate that quite impressive. My stock bike is 109.2 HP.

just for comparison, my PCW 1260 with EFI was only 130hp 86lbs torque.Ive been tweaking the EFI and I think its running better now:biglaugh: then when this dyno run was made. soo 133 from stock:confused2:

but any way you look at it its a cool max ,welcome to the forum!

Thats only 6 more hp and a couple tq's from Chris' numbers with a piped, morley kitted stock 1200 motor. I was under the impression that the injected stock, piped motors were around 140ish give or take a couple.

Thats what I thought,:confused2:maybe its closer to that now:ummm:(after 2 years off tweakin):bang head:,IM GLAD I DIDNT PAY FOR THE EFI.the guy that did got so frustrated with it that I got the whole bike for just more then the EFI sells for.:clapping:

i've googled bhp and hp defs. here what i've found.
Mechanical horsepower
hp(I) ≡ 33,000 ft-lbf/min = 550 ft?lbf/s
= 745.699872 W
Metric horsepower
hp(M) ≡ 75 kgf?m/s
≡ 735.49875 W

but also:

The abbreviation bhp may also be used for British horsepower, which has the same definition as the American SAE

i don't know, surely one more dyno to do one day ;)

I dig into that and again UK is very specific.
Your numbers are fine...however...

Just some notes:
-Steam engines horse power only used in UK - HP - 745,69987158227022 W
-BPH - brake horse power - power on engine dyno
-RWHP - rear wheel horse power

In UK steam engine HP is named the same as combustion engines HP.

HPI - I from Imperial
HPM - M from Metric

HPM is whats been always used for gas engines.

And the rule is: HPM= 0,9863 HPI

So your 133 are 128,079 RWHP

Still high but closer to truth.
