First time at the track

Ran my 86 last night. I was only able to get 2 passes. I had never ridden a bike down the track before and have only had the vmax about a month. Best pass was 11.63 @118mph with a 1.93 60ft. I need to get that 60ft down. Not too bad for my first time and an pretty much stock bike!

Those are great times for your first time racing. It's a blast going down the track no matter what the time slip says:punk:

I had a lot of fun. The track was super busy though. Wish I would have been able to make more passes. It was way different launching on the track than it was on the street. But I'm happy with the time and I'm confident I can get that 60ft down.

I here ya , practice ,practice,practice.
I took my gen II when I first got it , 1300 mile on it and I had it at the valley!( (Lebanon Vally )
 
There is a test and tune on September 9th so I'll be going to that. Hopefully I can get my 60ft down.

Test and tune, and cruise nights were always the best times to race. you can usually get your fill of runs down the track.
 
Nice, you should get with Sean for some tips and moral support the next time you hit the track.
 
Great number's but with number's like that when you slept at the light that bad you could have a low 11 second run for sure. Dude i think i herd you snore just before you let the clutch out. Good job on your first time. No great job but you need to go again because with a good hole shot you will have some of the best number's you can get with a gen 1 vmax. Full screen your video and watch your hole shot and keep your eye on the tree you need to go on the last yellow. Don't worry it will be green before you get a red light. Sean is a good person to talk to.

I know this is an old thread.What difference would it make to his numbers by cutting a better light or in your words "with a good hole shot you will have some of the best number's you can get with a gen 1 vmax." A holeshot has nothing to do with ET or MPH.A holeshot means you left before the guy in the other lane and usually gets a win as long as you weren't out powered.

On your first time down screw the light.Concentrate on getting a good 60' and getting your shifts down.Once you get all that worked out you can start trying to cut a light.

To the member who was racing.Great numbers for your first time down.Have you gone since?
