Well on friday i ran at Famoso raceway.
http://www.famosoraceway.com
MSL: Approximately 635' 194m (estimated)
Location: 33559 Famoso Rd.
Lat/Long: 35.5966219 - 119.1276042 (estimated)
Track Length: 1/4 mile
Run Off Length: 1/4 mile

Keep in mind i have a shattered sholder and broken arm that is healing.
It has been about 1 month into the healing process.
Also i only have about 100 miles on the bike considering i just got it running right since it was sitting for over 7 year's.

1st run: "1st gear launch" temp=78*
RT .421
60' 2.326
330' 5.721
1/8 8.409 @ 91.15
1000' 10.748
1/4 12.782 @ 108.63

2nd run: "2nd gear launch" temp=76*
RT .613
60' 2.365
330' 5.876
1/8 8.581 @ 91.13
1000' 10.928
1/4 12.964 @ 109.91

3rd run: "1st gear launch" temp=71*
RT .540
60' 2.189
330' 5.457
1/8 8.107 @ 92.45
1000' 10.438
1/4 12.464 @ 110.42

BTW on my 3rd run i was running a Busa and he ran a 12.543 @ 117.15.

I had a good time but this was the last T&T of the year so i had to do it!
By march of next year i should have everything tuned a bit better and i am hopping to hit the 11's.

Now i am running a stock bike with a supertrapp kerker 4-2 exhaust, UNI filter and a 70% sunoco 110 - 20% 91 fuel mix.

PS:
My weight with full leather's and other gear is about 290Lb's.
This is my 2nd time racing a bike all together.
The first bike i ran was a year ago with my 07 Ninja 500r.
BTW thw V-Max and the Ninja are compleatly diffrently world's at the track.

You might try running 87-89 octane pump gas next time. Can't see any reason why you would need that kind of octane and you might be quicker without it. :confused2:

Hmm. I will try in next year when they open back up again.
I have to run 110 in my quad because of the compression so i had about 10 gallons sitting around and i figured why not!

Yes the VMAX and the Ninja500 are 2 night and day different bikes at the track. The VMAX makes more torque at 2500 RPMS than the 500 in its peak. LOL!

Running 110 Octane most likely killed your MPH about 3-4 in the 1/4 mile.
I have expieremented with fuels in the VMAX and a good grade such as Shell, BP, Sunoco, Chevron, Amoco 87 Octane will get the peak performance out of it.

Since you stated your a big guy I would always launch the VMAX in 1st gear only. Yes the smaller guys 155lbs and under use 2nd due to all the torque the bike makes.

Practice your launched more, you can do this on a private asphalt road to get the hang of it (No burnout needed)
You are a big guy I am sure if you distribute your weight properly you should have no problems getting that 60FT down atleast into the 1.80's your losing closing to a full second by the time you reach the end of your 1/4 ET due to the slow launch.
Motorcycle dragracing is all about practice and more practice on the launch.
What rpm are you shifting at?
Also I with your weight and still learning you dont need to do a burnout at this time in your learning stages.
