Was browsing for information on clipon handlebars and saw this: I've been looking for that piece with holes in it near the seat. I'd imagine its an engine heat guard or something but I have no idea what to call it in a search. Where can I find a set of those?

I was of the understanding that the 05's Serial number would match the plate identifying the bike as whatever # of 2000. Dealer told me that the last 4 of the VIN was 0070 and the plate reads 874 of 2000. ???????? Makes No Sense to me:ummm::ummm::ummm::confused2:
