It might get you through it without having to remove them, but if it still runs like crap you know you'll have to tear them of and go through them. Just to clarify, you synced the carbs after you did the shotgun? If not I'd do that and see how it runs.

the shotgun and peashooter aren't thorough cleanings, if you don't want to run a couple of gas tanks with seafoam in it you need to remove the carbs and clean them. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=12556

you probably have a blocked pilot jet. You could probably try running seafoam for a couple of tanks to see if that'll clear it up or take the carbs apart for a thorough cleaning since it sat for 2 years.

I've put 1500 on mine since I've bought it in 2011, but I've been deployed for 14 months total in that time frame too. I return from Afghanistan at the end of April and been here since Sep. So definately looking forward to your pics of your trip and wish I could do something like that in the future.

If you're sure the bleed was good, it'd be time to rebuild the master. Maybe upgrade the lines while you're at it.

I'd try bleeding it, I use the harbor freight version of the mighty vac. If that doesn't work it my be time to rebuild the master.

How long was turnaround for the seat? And any pics?

Have you synced the carbs yet? It'll run like crap if they're out of whack. You can run a can of seafoam in the gas tank and it might clean itself out or go ahead and tear apart the carbs. But a sync tool is a must btw.
