What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Just installed the Raptor shift light! Rick at Raptor Performance was great to deal with. And the light? Very nice! Set it for 9200 and just got back from an afternoon ride, plenty bright to see in bright sunlight. From what I can see it comes on right when my tach is smack on between 9000 and...

Best ever quote about a Vmax

Ya, I wish I would have kept the H2... In stock trim it was a real handful and had the death wobble even in a straight line WOT at 90 and above. Replacing the nylon swing arm bushings with bronze bushings and a pair of Koni's solved that. I road with High school friends (still do) and I can say...

Best ever quote about a Vmax

Scottish? English? I'm half Czech and half English. So this is funny! I loved the description which is why I posted it. My first bike was a 1972 H2. A year after I bought it I went with the Bill Wirges 100 HP kit. Chambers, reed valves, 36mm Mikuni's, Koni shocks, dual front brakes (really...

Best ever quote about a Vmax

Funniest one I've read!:rofl_200: The Yamaha VMX1200 V-Max handles like a drunk office girl on a photocopier...and is just as dangerous. The frame seems to flex, the back end squirms under the engine's power and the front end loads up with the Yamaha VMX1200 V-Max's substantial 280kgs wet...

    LED Headlight

For those interested, here are a couple shots of the LED beam, the first is low and the second is high. A lot of hills around my place and it was 105 today and still 90 at 10pm, so rather than search out the perfect place I took these with my phone coming up my driveway.

    LED Headlight

Hey Killjoy, I'll try to get out tonight and take some photos of the beams for you. On low it's pretty wide but the vertical cutoff is like it was cut with a knife.

    LED Headlight

It was tight but a definite fit in the stock bucket!:clapping:

    LED Headlight

Just swapped the headlight out for LED’s. I chose the GENSSI 5 3/4 Inch Round Projector LED Headlight DOT 80 Watt, link below. This light got good reviews and in anticipation of having to fab up a way to mount it the flat back panel on the light held on with four screws looked like an...

Max starts when key is turned

OK, so went for a 90 mile ride today with fellow Vmaxer and a couple other buds. The Max behaved beautifully, the starter never engaged when not called on. This was thru a couple burnout's and a few 125+ blasts. Damn these bikes are fun! So the last thing I did was to follow the hint by...
