    Engine mods

Thank you folks for your valuable input. I do have already a 2004 with Marks exhaust and Sean's air filter with jet kit installed, it rides like a bat out of hell. I am technically inclined, retired and have 2 spare engines with some bits and pieces, one engine I am willing to bore to accomodate...

    Engine mods

Hello folks, it has been a while I was neither riding nor wrenching.. I am looking for some slight engine mods that have been posted by a fellow member but I could not find on the forum, related to 1300cc conversion and advancing the valves.. if anyone could help with these details or any other...

Water pump mounting surface pin hole

Hmmmm... you guys must be correct. I will also look into an 86 block I have for the sake of the knowledge. I thought it is a blocked orifice that needed cleaning but obviously not. Thank you all for the input... :)

Water pump mounting surface pin hole

Paranoid, I have removed the water pump from another Vmax engine I have, the same pin hole exists.... I am afraid that it is not a casting flaw.... and why would they worry about machining this particular hole and not others... :confused2:

Water pump mounting surface pin hole

I was cleaning my engine block when I came across this pin hole that resides in the dowel hole of the water pump mounting surface. I tried to blow it with air but it seems blocked, I also tried to see where it leads and I could not figure it out. Vmaxers and Vmax gurus any idea? :worthy:

    87 Venture Part Out?

I posted some time ago for a reasonably priced 1300 engine. I happily remain a second option. I prefer the 1986-1993 generation, however I am open for options. Adam

    Bike wobbles in agressive turns

5 seconds test #1 : pass your palm over the front tire, if you feel hi n lo you spotted a problem. 5 seconds test # 2: stand behind the bike upright and observe the rear tire curvature, it it exhibits a flat surface at the center ( maybe 2" or more ) you spotted a problem. I also read wheel...

    Bike wobbles in agressive turns

Pass your hand palm along the tire and feel for high spots, if you feel high and low spots, it is time for a new front tire. Difficult to spot with bare eyes, use the palm. All other mods and adjustments will noticeably improve the ride, but must start off a good tire :)

Wiseco +3mm piston kit for Royal star

Sean, a couple more questions: "Anything more then 1.5mm overbore on the Venture block or 2.5mm on the stock vmax block is pushing your luck." why not 2.5 mm on the venture block too? Also, if I want to re-sleeve and install bigger pistons only, what is the largest bore I can go without...

Wiseco +3mm piston kit for Royal star

now another question: can I resleeve the Vmax block to accomodate 82-ish mm pistons on the vmax block? and do I need to change other parts and call it a day? just to get it become worthy but not necessarily extracting every tiny bit of HP...

Wiseco +3mm piston kit for Royal star

Sean, thank you for chiming in.... Arias kit for the Venture block? What is the cost ? What is the cost of the sleeves and how complicated is the process? What are the drawbacks on boring 3 mm bearing in mind a fun riding bike not a dedicated daily driver... so can I skip the sleeves and get...

Wiseco +3mm piston kit for Royal star

Here we go again.... there is a wiseco +3mm big bore kit with a 10.5 compression that will yield a 1394 cc. Has anyone done it? what do you people think about it if I am going to use an older Royal star Block with Vmax heads. Any ideas? shave the block? shave the heads? nothing radical, but I...
