Your right I took it apart and no wear just a sloppy fit from factory. I couldn't get to the inside gear but I'm thinking it is the same as the gear that's driven by the clutch basket
Hi guys I'm in the process of a complete rebuild on my 85 and noticed the gear that is on the drive for the oil pump will turn. On the shaft.this is the shaft that runs from the clutch basket and the gear that turns on the shaft is the one that drives the oil pump gear is this normal? Thanks
the Haynes manual says 0.021 to 0.043 mm for oil clearance on the rod bearings,my problem is I bought some nice rods that have been lightened and polished with bronze bushings for wrist pin end,so the numbers are gone from the rods and I was wondering if the bearing shells have a thickness...

hey guys if you have a bike lift I highly recommend using it to remove the engine,i was all ready to use the floor jack and had my son come out to help me do it and he said use the lift wow what a load off my mind you just slide it under the engine lift and roll the lift back out no worries...

Well I started tearing it down in the frame and found the front head won't come off it hits the front frame downtubes.but I am wondering if the motor was all unbolted except for the rear engine mounts maybe it could be lifted in the front of the engine enough to clear the downtubes.has anyone...
