    st 1300 or concours??

Not to throw a wrench back in here, but since I'm an FJR owner and former Vmax owner, I wanted to step in just a bit. The first gen FJR's were the cookers. 03'-05', and I happen to have an 05'. In the heat of summer, sitting at a really long light can damn near boil your balls off if you...

    IT police

Yup, lots of company proxies will detect any use of a bypass proxie. Had one of my fellow IT guy's test on due to a normal worker mkaing comments that he could get around the company firewall and within 10min of the test, the proxie team was calling our boss wanting to know what the hell our...

    Upside down forks?????

The forks look a lot like the forks on my FJR, right down to the adjusters at the top. If they are, there is a lot of adjustement that will be available right out of the box. Both in spring rate and in dampening. Spring rates should have 4-6 options I think, and dampening has 20. From...

    Here's the MCN teaser

In the article it states that it's likely to have the R1's throttle by wire, new VVT and it's detuned damn near 100 horse. That screams fuel injected. I'm loving what I see so far and I've already warned the wife that I will have this bike providing that I also like it in person. I also...

    Can't give the BKing away?

The Bking is a nice bike. Our local suzi dealer also has one and since my wife bought her bike from the store manager (his personal bike) we always drop by for visits. The seat feels about the same as my Max did, though a lot more comfortable. The problem I ran into is that I have long legs...

    No 2008 VMax now!! Post-poned until 2009!

Again, no vmax mock up at the Atlanta Internation motorcycle show. Spoke to one of the Yamaha reps and he couldn't answer anything about the vmax (and didn't seem interested in the questions either). Second year in a row that the reps at the show didn't want anything to do with anything vmax...

Where do you Live and what do you ride!

I no longer have my Vmax (but plan on getting another one eventually). Currently riding my FJR1300 The wife and I did go and look at a B-king last week when out local dealer got one in. Not a bad bike, but a tad wide up front. Still like the overall looks of the new max...

    Grrrr...stranded

The dealer shouldn't be checking with yamaha, they should be stepping up as their work isn't holding up. Whatever the issue, it was there when they worked on it. What this means is that they just replaced the bad parts and sent you on your way. They didn't investigate what actually caused...

    Question to Hayabusa owners

They shorten the distance between the shock and the frame. Thus lowering the bike down without compressing the shock. This way you get a nice low bike and the suspension travel/feel is still the same.

Showa VTX Shocks On VMax Install Tips & Pics

Very interesting mod. However, I'm really digging the invisable rear wheel mod you have going on.:punk: My father and I both wonderd if his VTX shocks would work on the max but just never got a chance to find out.

    I'm a traitor

It's a great upgrade. However, if you can, wait till you can afford have both beasts at the same time. Mine was a space issue and while I'm really enjoying the FJR, I miss the Max. There are just some days I'm in a different mood that only the Max could satisfy.

7 Now Dead From Burnout Gone Wrong In Tennessee

Man, that sucks. Have to agree, full blown drag car has no business running like that with an unprotected crowd that close.

    I'm a traitor

Yea, acceleration is great on these. My wife loves the fact that the FJR has the grabrails. Problem is getting her off her bike and on mine.
