The dealer shouldn't be checking with yamaha, they should be stepping up as their work isn't holding up. Whatever the issue, it was there when they worked on it. What this means is that they just replaced the bad parts and sent you on your way. They didn't investigate what actually caused...

They shorten the distance between the shock and the frame. Thus lowering the bike down without compressing the shock. This way you get a nice low bike and the suspension travel/feel is still the same.

Very interesting mod. However, I'm really digging the invisable rear wheel mod you have going on.:punk: My father and I both wonderd if his VTX shocks would work on the max but just never got a chance to find out.

It's a great upgrade. However, if you can, wait till you can afford have both beasts at the same time. Mine was a space issue and while I'm really enjoying the FJR, I miss the Max. There are just some days I'm in a different mood that only the Max could satisfy.

Yea, acceleration is great on these. My wife loves the fact that the FJR has the grabrails. Problem is getting her off her bike and on mine.
