Well I just ordered a shindengen kit, so hopefully that will clean up my issues. Now if my flatslides would ever show up life would be great.

So I put the regulator on off the fzr and cooked that or have a bad stator. Going to test ac Voltage output and make sure that is good. What year R1 regulator is best? I read the thread on it and nobody seems to pick just one year range. Also are they all created equal or are the cheap ones...

Well problem solved. Voltage regulator is junk yet again and shorted out. I want to ride this weekend but no way i can get a regulator in time. I have an older fzr 600 parts bike out back, think I could rob that and make it work?

I don't think think so, I wiggled all the wires around while looking for tubbed spots and tried a new fuse and it blows instantly.

So I fired up the bike at lunch and it died after a minute sitting in the driveway. Saw a little puff of smoke from I don't know where. Needless to say it blew the 30 amp fuse just above the positive terminal on the battery. Pulled sest, tank lid and airbox and can't seem to find anything...

I will have to do some more digging. One would think if you sheared a tooth in the trans it would have came out in the oil, but it could be stuck up in there to. I will get up by the sprocket and see if I can see a damaged tooth as well. After some hard running I get about a 4 inch puddle...

I had a weird issue though that I cant find any answer to. I was out riding the other day after I hit my 600 mile break in period. I was running about 80 in fourth and hit it hard grabbed fifth and when I hit about 140-145 I heard a large pop. I immediately backed her down and all the vitals...

Yea Sean, I lightly block sanded the fire ring, flipped the head gasket, used the copper permatex and torqued to 60 ft pounds. Thanks again for the help that night.

Yea the original aluminum portion of the sleeve ends up being too thin. The liners in this engine have a half inch height on the lip vs the standard big bore liners that have a quarter inch lip. I don't know where thunder valley is, but I'm interested! Well its 3 am and I think I am done...

Do the later model bikes take a replacement bulb? My 86 has a sealed beam.
