Could this be my problem ..there seems to be a lot of play in the ring gear.
Perhaps I did not install the flywheel properly when i replaced the starter clutch.

no it does not go away when i pull the clutch in..
it goes away a little after the bike has warmed up but not very much..
I'm going to pull the flywheel tomorrow.. thank you
I searched and could not find very much... I hear a knocking at my starter clutch at idle. .. ( my carb's are synced ) ..funny thing if I play around with the sync and unbalance the carb's the knock goes away. Changing the starter clutch did nothing for the knocking so I tore off the engine...
Thank again for the reply's I really appreciate it! I've done a lot of work to this bike and don't want to mess it up.
About the magnets what side do I put them on the oil filter?
Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and tapped the threads and blew it out with air as I moved on before I got a chance to read any replies. How can I address any metal shavings that might have been blown back into the motor.. i`m gonna be sick..
I am replacing my starter clutch ..its off but I did not use the cone on the puller and I messed up the first couple of threads on the crank nose and my bolt wouldn't start to thread.
I measures the flywheel bolt threads with a gage and i'm sure it is 12m 1.25 is this correct?
Also can I...
Thanks for the reply's. I went back to the dealer and asked them to see the CARBURETOR SCHEMATIC for myself and sure enough it is 170 as this saved me a lot of time and headache,
Went to Yamaha for a set 4 new paj2 for my bike. I searched here and most of the threads I've have read say paj2 behind the slide are #170 but the yamaha dealer are saying Canadian bikes are #150. Is this right...are they mess'en with me lol...
