    2011 Eureka Springs rally info

I've got to drive and drop a load at Pindall tomorrow. What can I do (you can't have my bearing because I'm going to try and show up saturday) If you need me to pick up a bearing in NLR or Conway and bring it to you, say so. I'll help put it in too, but I don't carry tools in the International...

    I've really screwed up!!!!!!!!!

You'll probably need a smith. Yank the faux cover lock out of there and take it to someone that can help. (Mine doesn't have a helmet lock so I don't know if that's easier to access or not) When I lost mine in a accident, I ended up picking the lid lock and cut a blank with a chainsaw file. No...

Met a new VMaxer in my town!

I spotted one in Paragould today. The rider was inside eating lunch so I didn't bother pulling the International in. If he/she was at a station I would have had to stop. It's just odd seeing one. There's what, 5 in the whole state? When Is the Ozark ride by the way? Any rooms left?

    L.E.D. tailight

It looks like my Radiantz unit. (discontinued years ago) and looks great on the bike. I can't comment on this unit except for the aesthetics, but If it's as good as a Radiantz light, just add a modulator and the deal is done. The shape really flows with the Max and fits in great.

President Obama gets stuck in Ireland

I may be too much of a redneck, but if the President (even if it is Barry Sotoro) is stuck in a compromising position like that, I'm going to use the other car to push his limo off of the speed bump. It ain't rocket science.

How much fuel does the tank actually hold?

There isn't a "reserve" tank on our bikes. When the fuel level gets low enough, the sensor shuts off the pump causing you to switch to res. It's all the same tank. The reserve is needed whenever that little switch thinks you are low enough on fuel that it doesn't want to be pushed to the...

How much fuel does the tank actually hold?

The tank holds just enough to give your butt a rest, but not enough if you've got to get somewhere. I've drained mine to coat the inside. It's been a couple of years, but I wrote it down that it took 4.8 gallons to fill it back up. I didn't fill it to the top of the neck, but it was close...

Cost of Doing OD 5th Gear

If I remember right, it was around 800 bucks for the gears and such. That was a year and a half ago though and inflation may have screwed that number up. If I had the money right now, I'd be all over it. Hopefully he'll chime in pretty soon. I'd like to know for sure myself.

    Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular

I saw Floyd at the Superdome years ago (from what they tell me :biglaugh:) I haven't been to a dedicated laser show, but if it compares to a real Pink concert, it's got to be entertaining.

    Slide Diaphragm Ok?

I've done it to my Seca's. I use black RTV and smooth it out as much as possible with a wet finger.

    Ball Peen Hammer

My brother carried golf balls as a back off warning. It seemed to work pretty good. They'd bounce once from the asphault and slap the windshield of the offender. Myself... I've kicked a car door or two, and flipped roadkill up with my boot. Lots of foot dragging in mud puddles, and I even...

    Charging battery with leads connected

Another + I never take the battery out, just charge it while it's hot. No problems for decades.

    Rotella 5w-40 synth to Rotella 15w-40 dino..Shinkos+Crosswind

I haven't balanced a rear tire since '91 or so. Front, yes, not the back. No issues like the good cap'n. I like to blame the wind stuff on the solid back wheel. (I doubt that's it, but it gives me something to blame it on)

Where do you work on your bike?

If it's something fairly quick, it's done in the house where she lives. Longer fixes require me to get the shadow and ninja out of the garage to make room. I also have a big red toolbox, but it's filled with tools that I never use. Hell, I've still got a dwell meter and point adjustment driver...
