    Doofus backed into Max

Hey, I've got an 85 (#434) that I don't mind having a later model fender on. I painted it yellow but if you want an original 85 fender, I'll trade ya for a straight one, no matter what the year, no charge. I've got more yellow paint. Good luck,

    floats problem - help!

I looked in the manual and found that the fuel pump has a diaphram/spring mechanism that shuts if off when the bowls are full. Perhaps yours is over running the carbs. It sounds like you have a spare pump.... What clear filter did you buy? Does it have a paper element or a plastic screen? Those...

    floats problem - help!

NG, any chance your floats are soaking up some gas and dropping into the bowl and needing more fuel in the bowl to lift them up? I've seen that happen with plastic floats and once with a brass float too. The brass one had a tiny hole in it. Plastic ones also had pinholes or where porous and old...

    Stuck scoop screw

I have a little trick I use to remove broken easy-outs. I use the smallest welding tip in the torch kit, low flame so you can localize the heat. Once the easy-out is starting to glow, I add oxygen to create a cutting torch. Usually blows the super hard easy-out apart and out. I had to do this...

    Clutch Leak

You may be able to tighten it but the optimum repair is to replace with a braided steel line from White Bros. Firmer action, good looking too. <100.00 money well spent.:twocents:

    my '92 not cranking over...

When you short the blue/white to ground, the motor should turn over. Sounds like a bad starter motor. Seans post mentioned jumping a new, fully charged battery directly to the starter wire. That will verify the trouble is downstream from your solenoid. Also, check the wire and connections...

    my '92 not cranking over...

Actually, the cylinder he is refering to is the starter solenoid. Contacts inside it are probably fried. Sean's advice to jump the terminals with an insulated screwdriver is the fastest way to isolate a bad solenoid. If it turns over with the screwdriver, then check the continuity of the...

    Vmax owners age?

I'll be 46 in a couple of weeks. I would love a pair of head gaskets and set of valve stem seals for my birthday. This is what you were looking for, right?

The official "What I ate for dinner" thread..

My lady worked today so I cooked dinner. Meatloaf (1lb beef, 1lb spicy sausage) with special ingredients, mashed taters and corn on the cob. Washed down with a large cranberry juice, gotta keep the kidneys clean for the beers :) Don't ya just love that overstuffed feeling, knowing you don't...

    Beer Prices....

You know, when Uncle Sam sent me to Germany back in 1982, I was ruined for American swill. Drink Licher every day for a year and you wouldn't want a Buttlite either. I now drink Newcastle Brown Ale. It's darker than most, but light enough to enjoy all day long. I can get it on sale at Albertsons...

    Noise from rear bank

You'll want to pull the valve cover and inspect the timing marks. Mine sounded like that right before it grenaded the #1 piston. Intake valves were advanced 1 tooth too far. I wouldn't run it till it's been checked. By the way, the timing marks for the rear cams are the straight lines on the cam...

Easy way to tow my Max?

Yes, that's what I was talking about. I know these rarely breakdown but in that moment, AAA is really nice to have. You can even use it for someone elses bike as long as you are there with the card. Nothing like being the hero when trouble rears its ugly head. :clapping:

    NFL Lounge

Re: NFL Lounge - 2009 First. You all know that Brett Favre is a god. Admit it. You can't hold all the records he does without being an ironman. :worthy: B. The NFC north will be GB, Minn, Chi and Det in that order. :biglaugh: Last, Aaron Rogers will take his team to the Superbowl with the...
