    Nearly finished

The last major project I have planned for my bike is now underway. I am installing the RaceTech springs and emulators. Also lowering the front fender so that it fits the profile of the Metzler radial. Once this is done, my list will be complete. Only took four years to reach this point, but...

My garage just got a little more cramped

Thank you for the compliments. I definitely plan to get it dirty and add some "character" marks to it in the not too distant future. Before I had the Max, I used to Jeep, but got out of it because it got real expensive and if the Jeep broke on the trail, which it would, it was a serious pain...

My garage just got a little more cramped

My V Max now has a little company. :punk: Just picked up this KLR 650 yesterday. I've had the bug to do some dual-sport riding lately. I came across this rig locally, and just couldn't pass it up. On the motorcycle scale it is about the polar opposite of the Max, especially in the power...

    Help please!

Just managed to finish the shotgun on the carbs. Let's just say it was long overdue, as in it had never been done. I know this by virtue of the fact that the factory brass plugs were still in place over the idle mixture screws. It took longer than planned to finish due to the fact that I had...

What did you do to your Vmax today?

Wasn't so much what I did today, but the collective effort of a winter and spring worth of work and money spent: Progressive 440 Shocks Carrozzeria Wheels (thank you Sean) Metzler ME880 radial tires Odyssey Battery COPS conversion Stainless steel braided lines General tune-up including new...

    Help please!

I started the shotgun last night after reading the post. I'm not finished yet, but will post up when I've completed the process. Thanks for the advice!

    Help please!

I do appreciate the fact that Sean is three hours away, and I have driven to meet him, twice in fact. Do to personal issues I won't go into here, burning a day right now to travel to Wichita to work on my bike is off the table, but if the situation were different I would not hessitate. I was...

    Help please!

I reviewed the FSM and the sticky here. I'm confident the right screws are being turned. If Sean was not 3+ hours away, the bike would have done been dumped at his door long ago. If I can't get this thing sorted, I may be making a road trip. I don't trust the stealerships around here to do...

    Help please!

I'm ready to beat my head against a wall:bang head:. I had a problem with the carbs being slightly out of sync. A friend said he had a sync tool and could help....let's just say the results were less than stellar. Now the bike will only run with choke, sounds incredibly sick when it is running...

Having fueling issue, where to start

Sounds like we're suddenly dealing with more than just my fueling issues!

Having fueling issue, where to start

I did treat the fuel with Seafoam Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with the PEASHOOTER when it comes to carbs. I have not synced the carbs (wasn't aware it was called for monthly  ). I will see about getting my hands on a gauge set.

Having fueling issue, where to start

I'm starting to put the bike back together for riding season, and have suddenly developed a fueling issue. The only modification I made in that area was the installation of new throttle cables. The bike struggles to warm up. Once the bike warms up, it stutters when rolling into the throttle...
