1995 Vmax w/ 8000 miles in Kansas City, MO New tires...new front brakes...comes with brand new stock mufflers. All fluids been changed and I just put an oil pressure gauge on it. Carbs been cleaned. I bought it 2 months ago for $5200 and put around $600 in it. The love of my life says...

Not to bring up a beaten horse...but i put a oil pressure gauge on my vmax. 95 w/ 7400 miles.... I have no idea if the o ring is partially displaced...but i ride it pretty hard. Regardless, w/ 10w40 at idle when hot i get around 10psi....if i rev up the motor... i max out around 70psi...

How noisy are these engines? At certain rpms i seem to get some vibration which I know is common on a V style motor at certain rpms. I can be cruising at low rpms and seem to hear the valve train...not so much clicking...just noisy. Is this pretty common? On the last 4 motorcycles I've had...

I ordered a pressure guage to mount on the handlebars. Just curious...how hard it is to install from the side plug that everyone removes and puts in the gauge? I would like to try to do w/o draining all the oil in the bike because i just did an oil change. Also what pressure should you see...

Just my 2 cents... If yamaha figured that vmax owners shouldn't run their bikes in the high rpms...why would they have a vboost valve that starts to open at 6K and is fully open at 8K rpms? The bike is advertised as a drag bike...not a scooter I agree with Mike. Riding a vmax @...

:clapping: Mike has a point. If it was an issue Yamaha would have fixed this a long time ago. Sounds like many have ran their bikes thousands and thousands of miles w/o a problem..and their vmax is still ticking :thumbs up:
