How to find out how many are left???

If you put down a deposit you will get an order number and Yamaha will build it. If for some reason they don't there is no legal way they could keep your deposit.

    2009 Vmax

I was told $19,900 but they wouldn't commit to it. Who would put down a $1,000 deposit without a firm out-the-door price? :confused2:

So, was the wait worth it?

It is great when racing tech is refined on the track and then makes its way into production bikes. I agree with the legendary status of the Vmax and it deserves to have the latest and greatest.

    09 Vmax vs Gen 1

There may be hope. I spoke to a dealer yesterday and he told me the dealership ordered 4 bikes (using the same process as everyone else) that will be for sale. They sell many Yamahas at this dealership. On a seperate note, I asked about the deposit process, and an out the door price. They...

So, was the wait worth it?

Given what we think we know about the new V-max, 683 lbs wet and 197 crank hp, I see the Hayabusa, ZX-14, B-King and all 4 liter bikes being better quarter-milers. Assumes good riders on both bikes, same track, same conditions. Unless the U.S spec max is more powerful, there will be no...

So, was the wait worth it?

The R1 and R6 were bred to win races not be a test bed for a 683 lb muscle cruiser. You have the tail wagging the dog.

    Canadians get screwed by Yamaha

Can you explain the math here? I assume by quick you mean quarter-mile. Given the 683 wet weight and the rumored 197 HP I can see the ZX-14, Hayabusa, B-King, and all 4 liter bikes being quicker in the quarter. Perhaps the new Max has a better 60 ft, maybe an 1/8 mile but it gets passed on...

    Oh Fuck Ya Baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

V-max wet weight = 683 B-King wet weight = 572 (according to "rider" magazine) Still there is 100 + pounds difference.

How many people are actualy thinking about buying a new Vmax?

I almost bought a V-max in 2002 but was concerned about the wobble, brakes, etc. that people complained about and I wanted to stick with fuel injection. (Even back then the dealer told me a new one was on the way.) I got a 2002 GSX-R1000 instead and it is a fantastic bike. It is a straight line...
