    Denver area members?

Greetings from Littleton! I have an '85 that I'm tinkering with and having lots of fun. I'm up for a ride most weekends. Percy

Welcome 1986vmonster! I have a 1985 Vmax and live just a bit south of you in Littleton! My '85 is basically stock except for a bit of wiring I've replaced but have a very long list of items to upgrade. Welcome to the forum! Percy

    Project: Tour-Max

Thanks so for this thread Biker Dash! As someone who is working hard to make my Vmax a wee bit more practical I am appreciating what you're doing. I just added a givi 47 liter case to mine and am loving the flexibility! Percy

Welcome to the club Bounty! I picked up a 1985 vmax from my father-in-law and while he took great care of it, it sat in a garage for the last 6 years. I knew it had a few issues, but I also knew the 2nd gear problem had been dealt with. Right now I have it torn apart and am rebuilding the...

    Saddlebag/pannier question

I'm curious which model of bags you have on there. I've been looking at the Hepco Becker site and they have a lot of options available. Your setup looks great! Percy

    Best Stock Seat Mod?

I'm curious what bracket you guys are using. I'd love to have a rack that can fit a large Givi top case for those long trips. Thanks! Percy

He was extremely careful with that and made sure it didn't kick in, or did very slowly. He told me that the first time the boost kicked in he was so taken-aback that it almost left him behind. :-) The first time I drove the bike he kept telling me to take it easy and not hit 6000 RPM. :-) Percy

Stripped one of my idle mix screws

Thanks for the reply guys! You have given me hope again! :-) I was pretty bummed last night when I realized what I had done. It was carb number 3 - the bottom right when viewed from the seating position. I'm actually not in a huge hurry to get the max on the road since I am waiting to sell...

Stripped one of my idle mix screws

If I may hijack this thread - I'm rebuilding my carbs and stripped the head of one of the A/F screws and thought I'd follow the advice below, but I made one major mistake; I didn't make just a dent with the drill bit, I went too far; way too far. My bit fit perfectly down the tube and I ended...

Thanks for the welcome guys! I'm going to look into replacing the tank, especially if I can find a reasonable price on it! As for more tank pics, see attached. The story is my father in law was riding with a tank bag but it ended up scratching the cover and when he went to have it painted...

Greetings all! I've been lurking as a member for a few months but today is the day, my new-to-me VMax is sitting in my garage!!! This bike has a good history and now it gets to start a new history with me. It's a 1985 Canadian model with 37,628 km on it. My father-in-law has decided to stop...
