Does anyone know where I can get a chrome clutch lever. My 2000 max has a chrome front brake lever the previous owner said it fell over and he replaced the clutch lever with a stock unit. Will a older venture lever work I think some of them were chrome.
My max had the T boost switch on it when I got it. It's mounted on top of engine on off switch housing next to throttle. Mine is three way also but it cant be shut off. It's either stock setting, 3000 or on all the time. From reading this thread some of yours turn v boost off?:ummm:
I would like to talk with someone who has tried the 2.9 ratio. Surely the vmax has enough torqe to still run pretty quick with that gearing. I would hate to spend money on somethig that would turn it into a pig. I guess I could swap back to the vmax housing. Then try a venture pumpkin I guess...
Hey Sean got that motor in runs great but man that dale walker exhaust sure is loud going down the road. I repacked the cans did'nt seem to make much difference. Sounds awsome at idle though. I was wondering if a person could swap internals. Does the v star have the 2.9 ratio?
Has anyone used a diferential from a virago or xv with the 2.9 ratio. I saw the post where it showed all the info on yamaha final drives. Seems like you could get one to work. I know that would be really tall geared but it would be nice for trips no drag racing! I know a 86 thru 93 venture will...
The previous owner checked the starter clutch it was fine. When you increase rpms past 1500 the knocking starts getting louder. I think it sounds like the piston smacking the head.
I am new to this site as well as new owner of a v max. I purchased a 2000 model max with 22000 miles. I knew before buying that it had a slight knock in left front cyl. From what I have read it sounds like connecting rod. At idle you can't hear it but with a screwdriver up to the ear you can...
