I have my like new used headers from Sean installed (brand new condition at junk yard price :clapping:) and my new Delkevic 14" carbon fiber cans installed. I painted the front pipe clamps with high temp primer and cast steel color high temp paint and they match the bike great. sounds awesome...
I think i'll look into doing the slip ons like you had on the bike to begin with Lee. I really like the way they looked and I got to hear them last year when I rode with Tom and Patrick. might as well go back to the set you had for the 122hp pull ;-)
thanks for suggestions and video on the exhaust. I like the 4 into 1 sound ( I did 4 into 1 on my maxim)
Hi Lee, yes i am still enjoying every twist of the throttle:rocket bike:!! and i got a new seat from Sean so its way more comfortable for me and the GF
Lol! That's exactly what I did. I'll save new exhaust for this winter. 4 into 1 with the carbon fiber er can. Or double carbon cans I have to do more research. Thanks again guys! High fives all around
:eusa_dance::eusa_dance:whoooo hoooool!!!!! It's the right side header! !! You guys just saved me from a lot of work and money and can you imagine if I had just bought a new motor from Sean!
OK so with my rubber mallet the right hand front pipe definitely sounds different than the left side. It's like a tingy knock and when I hit the left side it has the same kind of ting but with a longer tuning fork sound with out the metal on metal knock. I'm going to put a new oil fliter on fill...
thanks, fire-medic. And thanks to everyone else who chimed in also!! I really really hope its as simple as that. especially so i can throw it in my Girl friends face that wheelies and burnouts don't blow engines! and not having to pull the engine would be nice too, lol.
if it is a loose pipe what's the best fix? i have a really nice welder at home. if it sounds loose should i just remove the header and weld it back up or just whack it a good one with a small ballpeen at the bend?
holey crap I better check this exhaust thing out tonight! I didn't find anything out the ordinary in the oil but haven't cut the filter apart yet. I also drained the coolant and popped the cover off the water pump and everything looks perfect there. the noise could have been exhaust know that I...
2000, stock, 35k miles,
So here's what happened..... bike ran fine Friday on the way to work. About 2 miles from work it sounded like I had an exhaust heat shield vibrating some where near the front of the engine. By the time I got to work it was definitely not a loose exhaust noise. It sounds...
I've been practicing this myself and holey smokes I thought something was wrong with my shift light cause it was lighting up so much faster than it used to!!:biglaugh:
