I took my stock caps and stripped the paint off them. Then laid sand paper on a piece of glass and sanded all the raised portions until it was smooth and finished with 1000 grit. I then polished them to a satin finish.

Devolved a pop in the exhaust while cruising at mid rpm. I searched the forum and found some possible solutions. After I completed the shotgun procedure, I found I had a stuck float needle in the rear right carb. So maybe that was the culprit all along. But it's fixed now and running clean...

I too, am looking for some new mirrors. I sat on the new Yamaha Raider today the mirrors looked very cool and look like they may work on a 1gen vmax. Just an idea. Just a pic i found.

Stock Vmax, highway miles today, 100 total, at 75 mph. Started with a full tank and took 2.3 gallons to fill, which resulted in 43 mpg. :eusa_dance:
