Well I went back out and messed with it some more. It seems there is air in the system still. I keep getting tiny spits of air like every 4th time I crack the bleeder after pumping the master. out of fluid so will have to get some more tomorrow. Now just thinking about something here. I am...
Never thought of that. I will have to give it a try. I did go back out and try to bleed it again but it's no better. Since I have a new master cylinder i just went ahead and ordered a new slave so I can rule out defective parts. My bike is an 89 so that slave has to be worn some I would think...
I don't see any leaks at all. the only way I can get the clutch to work somewhat normal is that I added a tiny shim between the clutch lever and that rod that pushes in the master cylinder. It has been doing this for a while but just been getting worse over time. Like I said years ago when it...
For the last 5 years my clutch lever has had a problem. It gets soft feeling and doesn't want to pump up. I rebuilt the master cylinder a couple times but the last time it didn't help. figured the master was just worn out so bought a new master cylinder. Installed it and it's the same way. I...
well I ended up pulling the carbs and took them completely apart. The pilots had just a little crud so I cleaned them up good. Put everything back togethor and adjusted the carbs and it seems alot better. It also has a lot smoother idle. The thing I think it stange is when i sync the carbs I...
yes i think that's what they are for. They don't look the best honestly. Also this may sound stupid on my part but where is the pilot jet? I have the fuel bowls off and see the main but not the pilot.
I pulled the carbs apart again to to have another look. The only thing I see is that those small diaphrams on the side of the carbs look really dry. What are they for?
yea it cycles fine. I'm not going to say it couldn't be open a little but I really don't think it is. I have had this problem for years with this bike.
I'm not sure what is wrong with my vmax. I have adjusted the valves, cleaned the carbs, synced the carbs, new plugs and wires. It will idle just fine and runs above 2000RPM perfect. Now driving around town is just horrible because it wants to run so rough and lumpy from 1500-2000 rpm. Once past...
Hey guys my vmax has always had a really lumpy idle. I just got done setting the valves and done a sync job on the carbs. All the carbs are clean and in good shape. I figured after adjusting the valves and doing a synce it would idle smooth but it doesn't. I also adjusted the mixture screws. New...
well the vmax is running better than it has in years. All the valves were tight. After setting all the valves and a carb sync it runs so smooth and no more popping. I think it needed it for a long time. Oh and a huge thanks to Sean for letting me use his kit.:th_image003:
never thought about that. My guess is that it wouldn't work just popping those in to fix a lean condition but I may be wrong. Be interesting to find out
