Congraulations and welcome. I'm a Gen 1 owner, and I find a lot of the parts are still available from Yamaha (see online dealers Partzilla or Ron Ayers, or?) Any discontinued parts are usually available used on eBay of from other members on this site. I assume you are in a better parts...

If you're running DOT3 or DOT4 fluid, you'll want to clean it up ASAP after opening the clutch slave bleeder....before it damages any paint. Good luck - should be interesting.

Did you check this? I am doubtful your clutch itself could be so bad that it slips at 25% throttle.
