Yamaha not carrying Vmax after 2020

The 2nd Gen's could start holding their value in used condition and maybe start going up in value in a few years. ? (that would be IF they are in Original Stock OEM Condition though)

    Clutch slipping

I ordered that Retainer Ring yesterday from Gurued, after I talked to Tim on the phone about it. From what you are saying.. there is already a Ring in the clutch, this Rick Rash Retainer ring Replaces the stock smaller Ring and does a better job, of what it is supposed to do? My bike is still...

    Clutch slipping

In the middle of this vid there are 2 red arrows pointing to the "Ricks Retainer and Double DD" as he wrote it. - When I ordered this back in 2015, straight from Rick, I only received the part that the Top Red arrow is pointing at (pic attached). *What is that part that the Lower Red Arrow is...

First 600 miles - Shaft Drive Oil Change

per my owners manual... The next time the Final Gear oil change is due is at 16,000 miles (Wow). 1/3 quart of gear oil will last from 600 miles to 16,000 miles - this Yamaha Final Gear Oil must be very hard to break down.

First 600 miles - Shaft Drive Oil Change

Got a question: After riding about 20 miles for the first time after the Shaft Drive Gear Oil change (1/3 of a quart or 333ml) I checked for leaks. While touching the Shaft Drive Housing I noticed it to be Very Warm. I use the Back of my fingers to get an accurate temp reading... it was Very...

First 600 miles - Shaft Drive Oil Change

Excellent!! I forgot about the magnet trick. I have used a large magnet on my vehicles Transmission Fluid Pans before. Both are Great Ideas!! So... if we use a: shaft drive Drain Plug... the magnet sticking out the end of it does NOT hit and rotating assembly inside the Engine Oil Pan? (I am...

Gen 2 Engine turned off on its own - just once

I may have left the kick stand down when I pushed it backwards while the engine was running. Would That have killed the engine? No... I didn't hit the kill switch by. I thought it was when we put it in gear that it would die if the kickstand was down. No?

600 mile Eng. Oil Change - Any suggestions besides Yamalube?

I ended up putting Yamalube 10w40 in the engine as stated in the owners manual, mostly because it is still under factory warranty so why risk the warranty. (The owners manual did Not specify Dino, Semi Synthetic or Full Synthetic Yamahlube so I assumed, per the owners manual, I needed to use the...
