Where is everyone finding these 9k 2nd gens? I've been watching cycle trader etc and only found 2 sub 11k bikes, both with 12-20k on the odo.
I've been riding my 85 since about 07 and want a 2nd gen in the worst way, but everybody wants 14k+ and I just can't swing it.
Thanks all for any...
Yeah I was going to plan out a route beforehand. Just wanted to get an idea if we were all on board w meeting and riding that general area before I posted a route
Sorry for the delayed update. Thinking meet near rt 23 off the taconic and ride from there. Maybe bounce around in that area and then lunch in hillsdale or copake and make tracks from there. Letme know what eeverybody thinks
No, no problems with the reduction gears.
Thats the plan. Get a new starter clutch and some gaskets from PCW this week and slap her back together, see what happens. If it takes a crap again, I'll pitch a bitch for a half hour or so and then yank the motor and slap it around a bit till i find...
All three bolts, springs, pucks, and pushrods were there. The threads on the top of the bolts were flattened out from the clutch body slapping around due to the bolts being loose.
I have had a few experiences with the starter clutch missing a start.
yes the motor was still locked up with...
Riding around, started hearing some very pronounced rattlingfrom the left case when I let off the throttle in any gear. After a few miles of that, I'd let off and it it was jerking the wheel hard enough to just about lock up the tire and vibrated like crazy. Shortly thereafter, let off in second...
Just spoke to the tech line at autometer and was told that the two coils are getting overlapping signal and getting a cancelling effect. Would a resistor work to "slow down" the signal?
My tach is an automotive one that only allows for 4 cylinders by cuttin 2 wires in the back which puts it in 2 pulse mode, looking for 2 pulses per revolution. With one coil connected to thesignal wire, it only puts out 1 pulse per rev. If I had a procyle tach adjustable down to two cylinders...
:bang head:Bought an autometer tach that is usable down to 4 cylinders. wired in signal from 2 rear coils with diodes(facing the right way) in line prior to the junction going to the tach. it looks kinda like this
coil neg--------->l-------------+---------------------tach signal wire
coil...
I'm an idiot. Too much oil was the culprit. It was coming from Tube tube under The airbox.
On another note, anyone know what diode spec to use for double feeding coil signal to an automotive tach?
