OK got the bolt out!
Cut the L off the 10mm allen wrench then put it into a 10mm impact socket. Broke it free with the impact wrench and then used a rubber broom handle to hold the dampner and spun it out by hand.
Hopefully I will get a right up all done when finished.....
Apparently there are multiple forks on the Max from 93-up?
I finally took my fork into the hardware store and 10mm allen head fits the bottom bolt. Haven't been able to buge it yet though.
I will post pics when I FINALLY get it.

Yeah, just doing the springs should super simple.....
I am not doing emulators but have leaky seals so I want to fix everything before putting it back together.
I am just installing progressive springs, new oil seals and 20 wt oil. Hopefully I won't regret the descision.

Mine is a 98, and I am trying to find an allen rench or socket to put into the bolt on bottom. I don't have an impact wrench but can hopefully borrow one this weekend I can't find either a straitght allen wrench or allen socket in the size neighborhood at any local store. Welding a bolt together...
BTW I went to the dealer today and they said they can no longer get the holder and T handle specified in the service manual.
But....they can do it for $60 and hour!
I would love to get this as well, I am currently stuck in the middle of a progressive spring installation (very stuck).
