Engine Oil Leak - Front Left

I did have to take the back cover off to get the front cover off. There is a gasket there and engine oil behind the cover. Still waiting for the replacement gasket to come in the mail. I think the case was leaking at the front upper most point and the oil was getting blow up on the engine...

Engine Oil Leak - Front Left

Thanks for the replies. I agree and think it's leaking from the front cover so I ordered a new gasket. In order to remove the front left cover do I also have the remove the cover behind it where the shifter is? I started to remove the case cover and it wouldn't come off because of the wires...

Engine Oil Leak - Front Left

I’ve got an engine oil leak on my 93 vmax but I can’t tell where it is coming from. The oil seems to be coming from the front left side cover. The cover bolts were a bit loose so I tightened them down a bit but that didn’t seem to help. It’s not the valve covers because they have been...

    Replacing Carb Diaphragms

Yea and when I installed the new ones I used WD40 and two screw drivers. One I wedged in between the two plastic washers to create some space and then the other one to push the diaphragm between the washers. Make sure that the diaphragm is in all the way and seated in the grove of the washer...

    Replacing Carb Diaphragms

I just bought a set directly from him for $100 two weeks ago. I'd follow the instruction on his ebay auction for changing the diaphragms. I broke one of my slides when trying to take it apart so I just pulled the diaphragm off the side and installed the new ones without separating the slide...

    Replacing Carb Diaphragms

When installing the new diaphragms does the orientation matter? I noticed on the slide there is a small hole on the end where the needle is. When installed into the carb the hole will face the bottom. The diaphragm has a tab on the outer edge so it's possible to change the orientation of the...

    Replacing Carb Diaphragms

I saw someone mention gorilla glue but I read someone else said it cause the slide to crack when then glue expanded which wouldn't surprise me. That glue does expand a lot. PVC cement sounds good but it would be nice to get them apart again. Would RTV silicone work? That's supposed to resist...

    Replacing Carb Diaphragms

So had anyone found a good glue for putting the slides back together?

    Slide Diaphragm Ok?

Sounds good. So does anyone have a recommendation on a type of glue to use to hold the sliders together?

    Slide Diaphragm Ok?

RTV sounds like a good idea. 2 of the 4 had minor damange like in the picture.

    Slide Diaphragm Ok?

Just wondering if this slide diaphragm is shot? It has a small rip near the edge but the rip does not go all the way through. Otherwise the rubber still seems pliable.
