I would personally not leave the switch in the reserve position....there have been several times I have been riding on a bright sunny day and all of a sudden the thing starts to die...I have cupped my hand over the red fuel light, and sure enough its on! I guess what I'm getting at is the fact...
I cleaned everything off tonight and put a coat of anti-squeal compound on the piston contact area. Rode for a while and the squeal was definitly less noticable, but still there. I guess after hearing that other 06 models have the same squeal problem, perhaps getting the EBC HH pads is the best...

Front brakes on my 2006 squeal, unless you really grab a handfull! They are the stock pads and have plenty of meat left on them. I took the pads out today to look at them, and they have "HH Front Only" stamped on them. Looking at previous posts on this forum, I know that everyone recomends EBC...
I can always run 120-130 miles in the city....and 130 up on the highway...2 factors though, I do ride with a light throttle and I am not a heavyweight at 162 lbs. When I do fill up it usually takes 3.3 to 3.5 (U.S.) gallons....maybe the reserve light IS a little off! I did the stock exhaust mod...
Got my manual out last night....the chart is as follows for carb sync: first 600 miles or 1st month...then every 4000 miles or 6 months thereafter. I will check the carbs, but I can generally get 130/150 miles before I have to switch to reserve,(combo highway&city) which is hard to be angry...
