    Intermittent sticky steering

Sorry folks for redragging this up but I am really struggling to resolve this handling issue. I resolved the knife edge handling, handlebars were significantly off centre. And resolved forks hitting the radiator it was just a slightly bent radiator guard. The handling is oddly hit or miss. For...

    Intermittent sticky steering

Yeah it is bouncing off the radiator on one side. I think it may be mounted wrong as there is no signs of accident damage at all. The steering stop isnt damaged either. The handling issues I suppose could be from a lack of confidence in it after the steering froze mid corner prior to the...

    Tyre cracking

Thanks everyone I decided not to risk it, I got both front and back tyres from an online retailer blackcircles here in the UK so I can't show them the tyre outside of pictures. Waiting on them sending a replacement, back tyre is fine. It isn't something which is on the tyre, I have tried...

    Intermittent sticky steering

Sorry to drag this back up but I still seem to be having some kind of handling issue which I just cannot figure out. The bike feels like its on a tight rope when driving, as if when I go to steer into a corner it wants to just drop to the side, it makes it feel extremely unstable. Even in a...

    Tyre cracking

Thanks all, I washed and scrubbed it but it is still there. It isnt something on top of the tyre it is in the rubber. I sent the pic to the to the place I bought the tyres from, they offer a warranty so I'll see how that works out.

    Tyre cracking

Hi folks, Just wondering anyones thoughts on these tyres. I bought them new in January of these year and they wouldn't even have 100 miles on them. Dot code says they were produced on the 24th week of 2019. Are these safe? I've never seen cracking like this before outside of really old tyres...

    Fuel pump stop working?

It maybe the vboost servo self-test and not the fuel pump, you can hear it in this video

    Exhaust popping

Well this is now resolved the bike is idling perfectly at 1000ish rpm. No popping and no backfiring and it seems to rev cleaner (although that could be placebo). Quite a lot was done in the end, tank resealed, new mixture screws, new fuel filter, carbs cleaned, sync and new intake boots. But at...

No pressure in intake for carb1

Could there be something stuck in the hole where you connect the carb balancer? Probably not the issue but worth a check?

    Exhaust popping

Thanks for the responses billy1ear and desert_max. The work so far has stopped the popping but the idle is inconsistent and after a short ride a float needle had gotten stuck (likely from that crap that was in the tank still in the lines, drained bowels and still a lot of rust). I have pulled...

    Exhaust popping

Sorry for all these updates! I dove into the carbs today, just attempting a shotgun before pulling them completely. I noticed that the pilot screws on the right side (cylinders 3 and 4) are a bit corroded. The pilot screw spring on cylinder 4 is corroded so bad that it is seized in the...

    Exhaust popping

Thanks c2protect. I am still waiting to put the tank in, I figured lockdown was as good a time as any time get all these other jobs done! The gauges I have are a cheap ebay ones which it seems the smallest knock will put them out of calibration. I suppose it's a case of buy cheap buy twice...

    Exhaust popping

Just to update this. I pulled the tank and this was the result, excuse the photo hard to get a good one. And a bonus picture of the "recently serviced" fuel filter. Coated inside of tank with por-15, waiting on new fuel sender gaskets for re-install so fingers crossed this solves it.

    Exhaust popping

I have an infrared thermometer so I will check the temperatures tomorrow. I wasn't sure about the rust in the tank so I am going to use por 15 tomorrow also so that should eliminate that as a possible cause. Thanks again I'll report back with findings.

    Exhaust popping

Thanks Fire-Medic. I never actually measured any of the temperatures, I'll check this first then pull the carbs and clean.
