Quad Lock - Phone Mount and Wireless Charger

Happy to report that this charger is fantastic. Latching my phone to it seems to be easier and more natural than it was with the regular Quad Lock clip. The charger is quite powerfull, It can charge my phone(Pixel 8 Pro) from 10% to full in a very decent amount of time (approx 1.5hr - 2 hr) ...

Carburetor Boots - If you never replaced them, check this out.

Surprisingly my local Yamaha Dealer which sells mainly boats has the best prices on parts. I had one cylinder popping a lot too before changing the boots.

So after reassembling everything and warming up the engine I re-synched the carbs as much as possible. I must say that theidling seems a bit more stable Then I sprayed the boots with carb cleaner. The replaced boots dont seem to leak, but definitely I have 2 VBoost joining boots that are...

I couldn't see any of them going all the way through in the middle. But they clearly go through at the edges. Will get the bike started during lunch time a see if I notice a different behavior.

Thanks for the feed back, will look at that thread for sure. Mean while I hope those cheap Amazon boots last a few weeks till winter.

Upper right electrical harness routing question.

Exactly what I was thinking about. I just find it weird that most connectors and harnesses are loose on the bike. Perhaps this is from factory, but I think that some past electrical trouble on the bike lead to a lot of unclipping.

Upper right electrical harness routing question.

Can anybody tell me if it's normal for this harness to hang loose mid air like this or should it be tied to the upper frame tube?

Carburetor Boots - If you never replaced them, check this out.

Its been a month that I own this 1997 Vmax with 89000 miles (143000km). Although the bike runs pretty sweet, Idle has always been a little weird. I have been trying to do simple troubleshooting and keep the fixes as little intrusive as possible as I want to enjoy the the last few rides of the...

Quad Lock - Phone Mount and Wireless Charger

After riding for 10 hours last Tuesday, I quickly realized that I couldn't use my phone as a GPS all day. My phone is mounted on a Quad Lock with the anti-vibration module, I love those mounts, they are rock solid and well made. I could have tried to attach a power bank to the front end or...

    Fuel bugs? Like real bugs...

🤣 Well, I have to admit that this bike has been demonstrating to be alive into a whole other meaning than what you would expect. Here's how I found the air filter to be on my first opening:

    Fuel bugs? Like real bugs...

Yup! Exactly my thought. I'll re-drain today and see if there are more. Expecting new fuel filter to arrive this week and ill clean the tank and the carbs over the winter.

    Fuel bugs? Like real bugs...

I performed the Shotgun carb idle jet cleaning procedure a few weeks ago and I noticed tiny bits of black dust in the drained gas from the carbs. This is a 1997 with 82k miles (142000 Km) so I was thinking of some rust in the tank making its way throught the fuel filter all the way to the...

    Exhaust Pipes perforated from rust

Thank you. That's exactly what I did as a temporary measure. I started by cutting the retaining bracket from the little shield and bent it away for clearance. Then I brushed the affected area and applied a layer of exhaust tape. I used some spring steel sheet I had under hand and secured...
