    Steering nut wrench

Found a video online this evening showing how to use Steering Head wrench that I sell on an FJR. Sort of cool to come across it. I know Sean Morley also showed it in a video he made a few years ago. About 2:45 into video...

Ventura's for sale… (if the wrong name the Vmax style touring bike)

More correct wording would be that "VMax's have parts similar to Ventures." The Ventures were released in 1983, then the VMax was developed using the Ventures Drive train, and getting power out of the V4. Sorta like your crazy uncle, we are !! Gary

    Electrical issue, where to begin

It's hard to figure out electrical problems when you are looking at bike, let alone on the other side of a keyboard. Just sayin !! Gary

    3D printer

3D printers are used to make jet turbine blades out of titanium. Printer is over a million bucks. And when servicing it, full hazmat suits are required. I don't know if aluminum is a material that can be used. Titanium is printed by laying down layer of titanium and support material, 2nd pass...

    3D printer

Most 3D printers work with a file format STL. Generally, this can be exported from any 3D solid modeling software. Look under the File tab, and Save As or Export options. Gary

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Below is text from Ignitech manual relating to dwell. An email exchange I had with them a while back indicated that they thought Auto was the better choice for all around use. Gary Dwell - sets excitation of induction coils Short - for coils with resistance lower than 2 ohms. dwell time 1...

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

I use to put dielectric grease on contacts before I shipped the TCI's. I had a couple of people say they didn't believe in using it, so I quit pre-applying it, now I send a small tube along and if they want to use it they can. Gary

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Read the voltages on the Ignitech 20 pin connector. Pins 13 (pos) & 14 (neg). Read it with TCI connected and removed. You can back stab the connector with paper clips if your meter probes won't reach in. Picture attached of connector, it has MAP sensor & Vboost wires on it that I add. What I...

    COP Resistance

3 out of 4 look within expected range. 4th that you show at 3.64 m is out of line with rest. FWIW, 'M' is usually a short hand notation for meg ohms. I assume you mean ohms for the 4 primary's and the one low secondary. Different COP's coils will vary in both primary and secondary readings...

    No Spark Issue

The COP's resistors would get as hot as they are going to get on power up. TCI system has coils energized majority of time, only when coil is fired does TCI interrupt current to coil. This is opposite what a CDI does. Gary

    Engine problem

There could be some broken teeth on the crankshaft cam drive gears. This can happen when cam chain bunches up under crank. Picture shows (poorly) 2 teeth missing on crank that I did when tightening rotor bolt and tool holding clutch basket slipped allowing crank to rotate. Heads were not on at...

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

Here is procedure I use to set MAP voltages on the Miscellaneous tab & also include it on CD to people that get Ignitech units from me. The procedure to set up voltages for a true Throttle Position Sensor would be different. Procedure I use to with MAP sensor set TPS sensor settings. Similar...

    The IGNITECH TCI thread

If IAP is selected on the Miscellaneous tab, all other tabs then switch to IAP. I am running version 140905a of TCIP4 software. In my opinion, differences between IAP & TPS outputs are negligible if the TPS setting is used with a MAP sensor. I have an actual TPS and a MAP sensor that I can...

The TP---% bar on BIKE screen will show if MAP sensor is functioning, lower left corner of your 1st picture. If it is moving as throttle is cracked it is OK. Gary
