    Frame braces

Front solid motor mounts are really easy to fit, rear mount is a bit more tricky but worth the effort. As for cost in the UK new billet engine mounts sell for around £65 ...... compare that to the frame braces. I would supply and fit for £100. Only the weld in braces are as effective as the...

    Frame braces

If you are fitting frame braces for handling improvement personally I would replace engine mounts for billet items instead, engine becomes a stressed member of the frame and stiffens it right up. Only induces a slight vibration into the frame and personally I barely notice. I always do it to my...

    Vrod

Vrod against vmax. In standard form maybe the Max maybe quicker. I've had both and at the same time, once the 1250 Vrod had a different exhaust and airfliter then remapped it was a different animal, more power and torque. Handling and brakes on the Vrod are excellent. All that being said even...

    Mystery switch

What rpm does vboost come in at? should be 6000rpm at I'm sure you know. Could be a crude vboost mod.

Rear shocks dilemma (...to upgrade or not to upgrade , this is the problem)

Don't forget billet engine mounts, makes the engine a stressed member and so stiffens up the frame, I would say better than a extra bolt on frame bar any day (although I can't prove that). I've got two max's and fitted billet mounts to both, very small increase in vibrations in the bars but not...

    Fat Max 1200

1200 Vmax. 1998 full power. This bike has been built to be a Vmax on steroids, still looks like a vmax but bigger everywhere, not the normal street fighter wanna be Vmax. It rides and handles pretty well, I'm 5'9 and it fits me just fine, it's just not practical for me and the missus to go...

    Custom rear swingarms...

Cheers for the link but I think the chap had a swing arm which used a chain. Mine uses purely gears to transfer the power. Maybe it's an early version??

    Custom rear swingarms...

Hi guys, Soory if this is hijacking the thread, it seams like there's a few guys on here that know a thing or two about wide swingarms. I have a fat max gear driven offset swinging arm that accomodates my 300 rear. I don't know much about it at all as I bought it off a dude that had broke it...

    Moved to the 'wide side'

Your quite right Matt the fork brace isn't enough. It's currently 8mm ally plate because that's what I had. As I previously mentioned I just wanted to get it on the road and so it was a 'That'll do for now' type thing. I will be sorting that out plus solid engine mounts once the bike is off the...

    Moved to the 'wide side'

Answer a few questions - No it's not loud, deep yes but not 'stupidly loud'. There's a hidden collector box above the can and basically inside the swingingarm space (swing arm is 50mm longer than original). Took an age to route all the pipe work and get it all it fit but it was worth it. It's...

    Moved to the 'wide side'

Got it in one chap:clapping: I Know it's not to everones taste but then I don't conform to the norm. Everything I've done so far is to get the look I was after and not to follow convention, after all there's more Max's out there that have been made in to a muscle streetfighter than you can...

    Moved to the 'wide side'

Here's my latest creation. High, Fat and probably bordering on daft. Pictures speak for themselves but to clarify, 300 rear, 240 front. Underslung exhaust, Whole bike lifted 2", larger fuel tank. Beautiful paint job:rofl_200:. Lots more to do but I just wanted to get on the road for this year...

Options for a wide tire kit?

My 300 conversion is well on it's way, I managed to get hold of a bespoke swingarm that used gears (a small gearbox in the arm of the swingarm) to provide the offset drive. It did have broken gears but I put this down to not having a cush drive in the rear wheel and a tuned engine. I have...
