My issue turned out to be the TCI! I replaced it and havent had any issues. Sold the bike a month ago and bought a '06 FZ1.

Mine were $20 on ebay. I had them PC'd black. Always wanted to do something about that brake light, but havent seen anything that looks clean enough.

Best money I ever spent on this bike. Do it, the stock bars are awful. I didnt realize how bad the stockers were until I installed the drag bars. Dont get the broomstick, get the ones with a slight pullback. You wont regret it. Mine are like these...

Battery is new and on a battery tender all the time. Checked every connection on th eharness that I could find. Keep in mind that this is a 2006 bike and is kept indoors. If its the TCI, I'm setting it on fire. That thing is $650.
