Looks like my oil/clutch saga is over. I don't know why some of the Vmaxs out there work fine with synthetic oil or specifically Rotella T6. But, mine, after a long 2up ride would barely move under its own power. I thought the clutch had to be toast. Well dropped the brand new T6, let it drain...

I have been reading about the bleeding procedures. Sounds like the "reverse bleed" would be easiest for one person to accomplish....?? I see it mentioned but I can't find a how to or write up. Anybody got a link? I've been searching but haven't found the right terms to use I guess...

yeah, sorry, guys.. after I posted that I realized Sean was my best bet. The emails have already started. He offers a stronger spring, about 20% more holding power? Anyone have experience with that? Don't know if I want to go full DD....

Where is a good source for the parts needed to service the clutch? Local dealer? An online source?

Pulling the clutch apart might be out of my range? Dunno, never have done any clutch work. I suppose is it fried being I barely made it home.

Well I can tell you from experience after todays ride. The clutch slips severely with Rotella T6 syn. I put it in at the end of the riding season last year (because I use it in all my bikes). Went for a longish ride and had to limp it home. What kind of damage could I have done? Dropping the oil...

Did you ever complete this project? The hard bags specifically?

I get your point. Ideally I would want something somewhere in the middle of where it is now. It is just a different feel than the stock lever. I will play with the adjuster and see where I like the feel the best. Thanks for your help!

on the high side of 1/4 inch. I'm talking about the end of the lever that actually makes the contact, not the lever "grip" itself...

I believe I am running stock. I have done no modifications to the brakes. Except for the new lever.

This is my situation also. Did you find a solution?

no matter where I have the adjuster set, there is still a lot of pull in the lever before the lever makes contact with the part that actuates the brake. (Sorry for my lack of technical terms)

The levers came in.......and they are indeed stamped r45 and l51. So far, so good. Weather in Colorado is supposed to be nice enough for me to work on the bikes this weekend....Maybe a short ride sunday.....we will see.

My last race was against a new Corvette Stingray. I was ahead of him up to 110mph, had to let off there due to catching the traffic ahead. Good thing because my FZ-09 has a speed limiter that hits at 132mph. That will be taken care of soon in an upcoming flash before riding season starts though.
