What year did the black rims come on and do you know if they will fit the 1985

Hi guys I'm in the process of a complete rebuild on my 85 and noticed the gear that is on the drive for the oil pump will turn. On the shaft.this is the shaft that runs from the clutch basket and the gear that turns on the shaft is the one that drives the oil pump gear is this normal? Thanks

Hi I was just wondering if there is a list of things that can be done to the motor while it is in the frame.I have to change a con rod and can't find out if it can be done with the engine in the frame and if there is a procedure on here for doing it.thanks

I was hoping a valve adjustment would cure the ticking noise that developed in my 85 vmax so much for wishful thinking,the noise seems to be lower maybe a wrisp pin or piston slap its a pretty loud metallic tick noise only when you let off on the throttle cant really hear it when you rev it up...
