    Crappy neighbors

I hear ya, mine had some really nice landscaping put in the front of her house and has the block work going 2ft over the property line. My family is the only one that has owned the property and 2 generations of us have had problems with this bitch despite telling her and showing her where the...

    Failed idle mixture screw?

Could be a small crack on your diaphram cover causing an air leak. I had a similar problem on my #3 cylinder carb. Switching to a good cover took care of the problem for me. You could try switching the diaphram cover from the offending carb to one thats working correctly to see if the problem...

    The honeymoon is over.. Sad.

Oddly enough, the europeans really like hardlys so it makes sense for them to manufacture them on the other side of the world for those markets. They wont be imported back to the us at all, us market bikes will be "made" here. Its a smart business move, one that toyota and honda both figured...

    New to me 1985 VMAX

I would imagine it could be tig welded back together fairly easily. Not sure about the wire issue though.

    muffler dent--

Ive used a propane torch to get dents out before.. Just have to be careful with it so as to not damage the finish.

    Straightening subframe

With a porta power though, youd have to have the bike braced against something while pushing or pulling (depending on what type of porta power is used) and that could create problems elsewhere... Not to say it cant be done, but its something to think about. Might be able to use a 2x4 and a...

    UFO Megaphones

I got them from a fellow maxxer that used to live down the street from me. You might be able to find some from a member here or on ebay.

    UFO Megaphones

I put a pair of Holeshot cans on my Ufo system. The inlet side fits perfectly and only had to make a small bracket to be able to mount the cans properly. The sound difference is amazing!

Re: Parting out '88 (Bad 2nd) What mufflers are on there? And the follow up, would you sell them seperately from the rest of the exhaust?

Gen 1 diff on a Gen 2 swingarm

Cryogenically harden the gears to help em out like they do with the driveshafts, put the widest slick possible on, add some wheelie bars and let the carnage begin! If it holds together and has grip, should FLY outta the hole!

Gen 1 diff on a Gen 2 swingarm

Very true, wasnt thinking of that. I think though the gen 1 is higher than the gen2. Gen1 is 3.66 or 3.67 if i remember correctly and i think the gen2 is a little bit over 3.

Gen 1 diff on a Gen 2 swingarm

Only thing i can think of is, it might have a numerically higher final drive than the gen2 does... if so, this would be the easiest way to help a heavier bike hustle down the track faster. Like switching to 3.73 gearing from 2.41.

i think im done for the season

Ouch is an understatement, lol. Just smacked the middle one on the shower curtain rod... not pleasent, lol. Hasnt been too bad today on the whole... the throbbing has been tolerable... but now, every so often, those two fingers want to clench from time to time and its VERY unpleasent when...
