Bill, those are the ones I've been looking at for awhile. Is there a noticeable difference in sound between those and stock? I had almost convinced myself to go with the shorter version.

My Honda ST has the ABS but I've never felt them engage yet. However, as a casual rider, I'm glad they're there if the need arises. My Vmax brakes stink and I need to do something with them...maybe upgrade to the 'busa calipers or whatever will fit.

I had a Vstar 1300 with an Ultimate seat and different bars and it was great for long distance...I now ride a Honda St1300 for touring and really love it as well. But that's just me...I lean more to the sport bike instead of the cruiser. Just try them out and go with whatever fits your style...

Delkevic makes a nice slip-on that is reasonably priced. You can find them on ebay or at their website. There are also some nice youtube videos that shows the different sounds they offer. As far as a mechanic in New York goes, I would have no idea!

I agree, it's probably a plug. A new plug can look perfect and still be bad.

I finally got it to work after a little wd40. There has to be a better solution that is plug and play to the whole speedo/tack issue than what I've seen.

I would settle for some upgraded brakes, new seat and tail lights....for now!
