Hi my max doesn't always engage third, It will not engage and will stay in second. It doesn't do it all the time just every now and then. When it does engage it's fine and stays in gear.

Keep her mate, I'm currently laid up with a broken foot. knowing that I have my max to go back to is the only thing keeping me happy. I'm out there working on her to make sure she's the best she can be for when I'm back it's good therapy :D.

Hi all put a new clutch in the max, now the clutch bites very late, going to replace the fluid as it's very old, the clutch doesn't seem to be slipping, do you think old fluid/air could cause this?

Looked into it, the speedo cable was loose and the faux cover was squeaking. You maybe joking but I had a mouse living in the air box when I first bought the bike, (was stood for 4 years) a k&n sorted him out :). As for the female related noise boost sorts that out every time lol.

When going along at lower speeds, in any gear I can hear a squeaking/chattering noise doesn't increase with engine speed, does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Doesn't seem to effect performance.

I'm using yammaha semi synthetic bike oil nothing to fancy. I held the front brake on, gave it some revs and eased the clutch out and it didn't slip. I took it out on a newly laid bit of road and it only seemed to spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd during boost on the new road.

Almost certain it's wheel spin, as it's not a problem with a pillion on I'm only 10 and a half stone so not a lot of weight.

Hi I have bridgestone exedras 525/526 on my max, under acceleration it seems to wheels spin with only a hint of throttle in most gears. The roads around here are far from smooth, and it occurs so often at first I thought it was the clutch slipping is this a common chariteristic of running these?
